I joined CARE in 2002, where I have also worked as special assistant to the President and and as manager for a community-based disaster risk management project.
In my current position, I undertake policy analysis and research and drafts position statements, issue papers and briefing materials on climate change and food security.
Prior to joining CARE, I conducted independent research in eastern Nepal and was an assistant team leader on an urban ecosystem health project for a local organization in Kathmandu. I hold an undergraduate degree from Stanford University and a master’s degree from Cornell University. I have received several awards and fellowships, including the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, Fulbright Fellowship, and Peter B. Andrews Memorial Graduate Thesis Prize. In 2008, I had the honor of being recognized by Cambridge Who’s Who for "showing dedication, leadership and excellence in one's career".
