Gracious - What does one say in these things? I'll keep it CARE and community related, I suppose. I have been a volunteer with CARE for a little over a year with my first experience being a participant in the 2007 CARE National Conference. After that rewarding experience, I held on to my pledge of being involved, which has lead me to be in a leadership position in my state as a First District Chair for Pennsylvania. As of 2009, I am a State Chair for Pennsylvania. As I continue to learn about CARE and the issues that affect the poor, I become more intrigued and excited to be involved. I truly believe in CARE's motto that empowering women can help end the cycle of global poverty and I strive to do my part to make this happen. Realizing that it isn't easy...I continue to march on. Getting involved with CARE helped me focus on what I want to do with my life. I love who I am because of what I do.
Besides that, I hold down a full-time job at a real estate company and write for a local paper. I also go to school..blah, blah, blah...I'm a volunteer in Philadelphia with several organizations including being on the Board of Directors for ActionAIDS and still find time to watch the Amazing Race weekly.
I am a fighter. I fight hard for what I believe in, even when I'm the only soldier on the battleground.
I am truly blessed, so I feel the natural need to pass my blessings and empowerment on. I hope you will as well!
