There are just two words to describe Washington, D.C. in August: Hot and Empty. And this year was no exception. Congress left town a few weeks ago for the August recess – less of a vacation than an extended period of time for Members to reconnect with their constituents. And with most days hovering at 100 degrees or warmer – with unbearable humidity – I left town as well. As a novice blogger I forgot to mention I would be gone for a few weeks – so sorry!
